Yaa Serwaa Somuah was born in the Eastern part of Ghana and has taught in many Schools and Children Magazine programs on radio. She wrote short drama and poems for Centre for National Culture-Eastern Region.
Yaa was the co-sponsor of the just ended 9th Basic Schools Drama and Poetry Festival in Koforidua.
Her passion to work with children has taken her on a world tour from Ghana through the island of Cyprus to the planes of Canada. Her writing began at an early age of sixteen which is the only thing that comes naturally though still have a long way to perfecting most of the materials she writes.
Yaa is the volunteer coodinator of The Nile Valley Foundation Learning Centre. A not for profit organization that is working to open an Afrikan History Library in Edmonton, Alberta.
